Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to teach English at our Ofsted outstanding (May 2024) school. We are an over-subscribed, popular school with a strong reputation in our community and wider. We are proud that Ofsted inspectors commented that our students’ behaviour is ‘impeccable’ and that they receive an ‘exceptional education’ at MRC.
People matter to us at MRC. We support our staff through giving them ‘more time, more support, more pay’. Teachers at MRC benefit through being paid 5% above Local Authority schools. All staff are entitled to a paid personal day per year and our sponsor, United Learning, provides curriculum resources to help with lesson planning.
We would be nothing without the brilliant students who we are trusted to educate and care for. Our students are polite, well-behaved and work hard. They are central to our decision making and chose our values of respect, happiness and achievement. We plan all our actions with these as our guide.
We are within located in the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty and are within easy reach of several local towns. Our staff travel to us from Chichester (25 minutes), Portsmouth (35 minutes), Guildford (30 minutes) and Worthing (45 minutes). Brighton is under an hour away from us. We also have staff who live in the town or in the small villages nearby.
We are seeking a dynamic teacher of English to join our excellent English faculty. Our results are very strong in both Key Stages 4 and 5: progress measures are consistently well above national measures and our students achieve fantastic results at A-Level. English subjects are consistently popular in the sixth form and our we would prefer the successful candidate to be able to teach A-Level, although this is not essential.
We hope you choose to apply to join us and be part of our team. If you feel you would like to apply, please submit a completed application form. You will find the information you need in the accompanying pack and you will find other useful information from visiting our website. Visits to the school are also welcome. Please contact Sarah Banbury (Principal’s PA) sarah.banbury@mrc-academy.org if you would like to see us in action.
Closing date for applications: Sunday 23 February, but earlier applications are welcomed.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
