Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Teacher of Food Technology with energy, intellectual capacity, and determination to join our successful Art and Design department, and make a difference to the lives, aspirations, and opportunities of our young people. You will be required to teach a few hours of Art a week as well.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding professional who takes pride in their work and is determined to develop the teaching of Food so that students of all abilities enjoy their learning and are motivated to succeed.

We can offer you the opportunity to deliver theory and practical lessons where you will inspire students to appreciate nutrition and culinary techniques that cover a range of food technology topics and concepts. 

The Art and Design department has a reputation for excellence reflecting the strong quality of teaching and learning. This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to be part of a successful, friendly, and dedicated team committed to ensuring every student achieves their true potential.

The school, who achieved the Ofsted rating ‘Good’ in January 2020, is located within easy reach of central London via the District Line and is easily accessible via the A13. Dagenham Park Church of England School continues to be a good school.

Leaders have reviewed what they want pupils to learn and when they want them to learn  it in all subject areas. This means that learning is planned and sequenced so that pupils  can remember more and develop their skills. Leaders’ actions mean that pupils achieve  well at this school. Teachers check that pupils can recall previous lessons through ‘do  now’ activities. Teachers implement leaders’ plans well. Pupils’ books include good-quality  work and show how the pupils are learning the planned subject content. Teachers and  pupils assess the work in books and pupils correct their mistakes and misunderstandings
