Role Overview:

As a Teacher of French, you will join a supportive MFL team to plan and deliver outstanding lessons that ensure stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences. We are looking for an enthusiastic MFL specialist with excellent French subject knowledge to inspire and challenge our diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver outstanding lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation, and differentiation to meet students’ needs.
  • Set high expectations for student work and behavior, using current teaching methods to sustain engagement and momentum.
  • Teach across the age and ability range, ensuring lessons follow National Curriculum and exam syllabus regulations.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review, adapting and creating new units of work as needed.
  • Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge and skills in French.
  • Lead after-school revision classes as required.
  • Set, mark, and monitor classwork and homework in line with school policy, providing constructive feedback and setting progress targets.
  • Track and monitor student progress, identifying underachievement and employing strategies for improvement.
  • Participate in departmental evaluations to improve teaching effectiveness.
  • Support the Head of MFL with quality assurance and maintain accurate teacher planners and assessment records.
  • Take responsibility for professional development and engage in the Performance Management Review process.
  • Adhere to school and departmental policies and attend regular meetings to stay updated on key issues.
  • Ensure effective deployment of classroom support staff.
