About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our A-Level department, the role is for a Teacher of Health and Social Care. This role requires a resilient individual to join the team in A-Levels and progress learners to their full potentials.
Please note, there is a possible MRS to this role which can be discussed if it is something you feel you would be applicable for.
About MC6
MC6 is Middlesbrough College’s thriving Sixth Form centre. MC6 has an extensive curriculum offer, with 22 A Level subjects and 9 Vocational Equivalents as part of our very popular ‘Mix-It Up’ study programme. We also offer full time study programmes in Applied Science and Forensic & Criminal Investigation.
This purpose-built environment has seen significant growth over recent years, and we are looking to recruit new teaching and support staff to support this growth. Our ethos promotes excellent teaching and learning, supporting all students to reach their full potential both academically and in preparation for life in modern Britain, as such enabling progression to future destinations that will help improve social and economic prosperity for our young people.

The successful candidate will have:
- To be a qualified Teacher
- To hold a relevant Degree, or equivalent.
- GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Relevant experience of teaching Health and Social Care and delivering exam-based qualifications.
- Track record of good and outstanding teaching outcomes.
- Current knowledge of IAG relating to career opportunities in associated areas for post-16 learners and current HE progression routes.
- Current knowledge of the Ofsted EIF, and the impact of this on classroom delivery.
- Knowledge of the range of courses offered in Post 16 education that are progression routes for students studying in this area.
