Teacher of IT & Business

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career in a vibrant and innovative Secondary School. Mercia Academy is a 11-16 school in a small town close to the Peak District and near to the cities of Derby and Nottingham. We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher of IT and Business to join our team. Our students are amazing – articulate, confident and resilient and we need teachers who can build on that and further inspire them to achieve strong results.

We are delighted to be part of the school rebuilding programme; we move into purpose built temporary accommodation on site in the Autumn Term and to the permanent new build in 2027. We are also in the process of joining the Lionheart Trust giving wider opportunities for support and sharing good practice. We have a track record of recognising potential and developing leadership within school with internal promotion and other opportunities. This is an exciting and transformative time for us, and we are excited about what the future holds.

The school prides itself on the wide educational experience offered to students with varied enrichment opportunities, Duke of Edinburgh scheme, our own PRIDE Award and a curriculum that supports success in academic and vocational qualifications. All students have personal laptops and staff maximise the opportunities offered through this technology.
