Purpose of the Position
To work within the Learning Support Department (LS) and to deliver 1:1 and small group specialist support to pupils with SEND. To be an integral part of the LS team and to liaise with colleagues, parents and outside professionals to deliver the highest levels of support, to improve the outcomes for pupils with SEND.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Produce and review ongoing learning plans for individual and group lessons.
- Produce individual target and provision summaries to share with staff and parents.
- Maintain pupil records, including assessment data and pupil profiles.
- Administer and interpret standardised assessments.
- Liaise closely with teaching staff regarding individual pupils taught.
- Liaise with the Head of Learning Support on the needs and progress of individual pupils.
- Develop and maintain good relations with parents through regular contact and communications; attend parents’ evenings.
- Attend departmental and whole school staff meetings.
- Undertake and share continuing professional development to inform best practice.
- To share in the responsibility of the pastoral care, well-being and discipline of all pupils at Kitebrook Preparatory.
Other
- To comply with, and adhere to, agreed whole school policies, as set out in the Staff Handbook.
- To assist pupils with preparation of examinations.
- Liaise effectively with other staff.
Work Environment
The school is set in an idyllic rural location with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The post holder will join a vibrant team offering a diverse skill set. A Chromebook is issued upon appointment to enable all duties to be fulfilled efficiently using the Google Platform, and protected time will be allocated on the timetable to ensure the successful completion of all aspects of the role. Meals included during the day.

- Level 7 in SpLD desirable, minimum of Level 5 in SpLD essential
- QTS status desirable
