An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Mathematics to join us at The British College of Andorra, in the heart of the Pyrenees mountains.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher who believes that every child can enjoy success in mathematics and should pursue the subject through to Year 13. They will recognise the increasing role that mathematics and technology play in a diverse range of fields in a data-rich world. Their pedagogy will connect theory and practice, encouraging students to solve real-world problems, working individually or in a collaborative manner. They will have a developed understanding of the difference between performance and learning, and a broad and knowledgable approach to assessment and feedback. They will integrate technology into teaching and learning. In line with research-informed best practice, we teach in mixed readiness groups with appropriate support for students who are less-ready in their mathematical knowledge and understanding.

Candidate Specifications:  

  • Qualified Teacher Status - essential  
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree - essential  
  • Experience with the IB Mathematics course- desirable (A level Mathematics experience perfectly acceptable as an alternative).
  • Ability to teach an additional subject- desirable
  • Experience teaching English as an Additional Language students - desirable


This post is primarily to teach Mathematics to students aged 11 -18 years old (Years 7-13/Grades 6-12) following the IGCSE Mathematics and IB Diploma Mathematics courses.

The post offers a unique opportunity to live in a spectacular natural environment with outdoor pursuits such as skiing, cycling, climbing and mountain walking on your doorstep, and with low tax advantages. The school, which currently has over 260 students, is situated just outside Andorra la Vella in a stunning mountainside location. We are 3 hours by road from Barcelona and Toulouse.
