Job overview
Reports to: Subject Leader - Mathematics
Responsibilities: Teaching Mathematics to Years 7 to 13, Form Tutor and contributing to the extracurricular programme
The Mathematics Department
The Mathematics Department consists of eight specialist teachers of mathematics. Our KS3 curriculum is internally constructed and prepares students for KS4 and KS5 study where we currently offer Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics and EdExcel A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. However, in 2025 BST will begin the transition to IBDP for Years 12 and 13 where we will offer AA and AI at both SL and HL. The subject is an extremely popular option choice at A Level and results in external examinations are highly impressive across KS4 and 5. Students in recent years have gone on to study a variety of mathematical courses at a range of top universities in the UK, Japan and abroad.
The role would suit an enthusiastic teacher with a passion for mathematics, who understands the use of effective evidence-informed pedagogical strategies, has extensive subject knowledge to facilitate challenge for all students and has experience with mixed ability classes.
