Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join our hard-working and dedicated team from September 2025. Students are taught in ability groups in specialist maths classrooms. Each classroom is fully equipped with interactive touch screen TVs, offering a productive working environment, conducive to learning, with staff having their own laptops and classroom. In addition, a Curriculum Support Assistant works part-time within the department to support staff with administration tasks & the preparation of resources.
As an Academy and department, we are committed to giving our staff the opportunity to develop their skills; we have a proven track record of our teachers and TLR holders being promoted within school. We have a lead practitioner within the department who is a trained NCETM Mastery Specialist who delivers regular maths focused CPD.
We are committed to all students developing a love of Mathematics and a desire to achieve the very best they can. The department works collaboratively, sharing ideas and good practice both in department and between our secondary partner schools across the Ormiston Academies Trust.
At KS4 students follow the AQA GCSE Mathematics Course, at KS5 we offer A-Levels in Edexcel Mathematics and Further Maths.
The Academy
Ormiston Bushfield Academy is a good school (OFSTED – December 2019), conveniently located close to the Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire & Lincolnshire borders, and benefits from excellent road and rail links.
The Academy is continuing to expand and due to its popularity and increasing student numbers, a new £6 million wing was opened in September 2018. This extension is an addition to the £20.6 million state-of-the-art building that was completed September 2012, giving every student the opportunity to learn in an exciting and inspiring environment at an Academy that has been recognised for its high standards of inclusion. The Academy has continued to build on the successes of the last few years and achieved strong results at GCSE & A-Level in the summer.

· Is ideally able to teach KS5.
