Job overview

Teacher of Maths – Exceptional Key Stage 3 Practitioner

Bloxwich Academy – Leamore Lane, Bloxwich WS2 7NR

Salary: MPS (Upper where applicable) + TLR 2C £3,391

Start Date: January 2025

We are looking for a talented maths teacher who has the knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to get the best out of pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9. We want someone with exceptional knowledge of the KS3 programmess of study and assessments, and a track record of excellent outcomes.

The successful candidate will solely teach KS3 and will be confident in planning and delivering quality lessons as well as robust interventions that will support progress of pupils as required.

To be clear: this is not the traditional ‘teacher in charge of leading Key Stage 3’ role. This role is for someone who is exceptional in the classroom and wants to continue to improve their classroom practice, inspiring pupils and modelling best practice to others.

You may be someone with experience of teaching in middle schools or the upper years of primary. This may be your first promotion, having been a successful maths teacher for several years. Perhaps you’ve been reluctant to take on the responsibility of being a subject leader because you wanted to spend as much time in the classroom as possible. Or maybe you’ve been a subject leader and realised you wanted to spend more time with the children.

If any of those descriptions sound like you, this could be your ideal role!

Our exceptional Key Stage 3 practitioner will have the capacity to identify the knowledge gaps for our current Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils and then target their teaching so our young people achieve the best possible outcomes. They will also model their practice to others, working closely with our trust’s maths specialists to hone teaching across the faculty.

Join a school where staff have fantastic opportunities for growth. If you’re new to this position of responsibility, we will support you every step of the way. If you’re eager for further career development in the near future, we will ensure you get what you need, whether that be the right qualifications or the right experiences.

To apply, please complete our application form available from https://www.workatmatrix.co.uk/ and send to the Director of School Improvement School, David Lowbridge-Ellis MBE DLowbridgeEllis@matrixacademytrust.co.uk

Application Deadline: 18th October 2024
