We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can convey their passion for Maths to the students in the school as well as provide leadership in the department and help to continue the development of the subject. You will be working in a team of 7 supportive staff in a well-resourced department.
The Maths Department benefits from excellent leadership and a stable committed staff body. The department consistently facilitates outstanding student outcomes with 81% of students achieving a grade 9-4 in August 2024. As a successful department we are at the forefront of new initiatives across the school which have been integral to driving up results across all subjects. You would, therefore, be joining a team that will help both to develop your own teaching and inspire the teaching of others. The successful candidate will have the energy, drive and stamina to deliver in an innovative way that will engage our students. You will have the desire to make Maths the most interesting subject to every student in the school and you will have belief that every student can do well in your classroom.
The Department benefits from a fortnightly timetabled collaborative planning period, giving staff time to reflect on subject pedagogy and continuously strive to improve. The school offers bespoke CPD opportunities ranging from National Professional Qualifications support to supporting MA programmes.
Our recent OFSTED inspection in May 2024 made the following comments about teaching and relationships at school:
· Pupils are highly positive about their school. Staff are highly ambitious for all pupils, and pupils recognise and value this.
· Pupils’ behaviour is good. Lessons are calm and purposeful. Pupils’ attitudes to learning are positive.
· The curriculum is ambitious for all pupils and provides a strong foundation for their future learning.
