Job overview
We are delighted to be appointing a teacher to join our team of dedicated MFL teachers from January 2025. Do you want to teach languages (French and/or Spanish) in a fantastic school with committed, welcoming staff and wonderful behaved students? This could be the perfect opportunity for you.
The MFL department is housed in dedicated rooms within the English and Languages block and has its own staff room. Our students are well-behaved, happy, engaging, and inquisitive individuals, who are proud to be Prince William students. We are passionate about providing them with the best possible education and they have high aspirations for themselves and look to us to guide them on their journey to adult life.
Prince William School is located in Oundle, within easy commuting distance of Peterborough, Stamford, Kettering, Wellingborough, and Corby. It is a vibrant and friendly school that strives to deliver the challenging and inspirational curriculum our students need to prepare them for the ever-changing world of work. We have high expectations for all, and our aim is simple: to be the best school in Northamptonshire and beyond for every student, no matter what their ability or aspirations.
The school is keen to support staff to develop both personally and professionally, and the successful candidate will be given training opportunities to suit their needs and career aspirations. If an ECT is appointed, they will benefit from the support of a mentor who is a MFL teacher, as well as the supervision of a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
This is an exciting time for the school as examination results have seen rapid improvement and the school is expanding under the leadership of a new Headteacher. We are really proud of our 2024 exam results, with an estimate progress 8 score of 0.37 for Key Stage 4.
We would love to answer any questions of queries you may have. For further information or to arrange a tour prior to application please email Anna Hewes (Headteacher) on anna.hewes@pws.emat.uk. We reserve the right to appoint prior to closing date.
Prince William School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to references and DBS check.

Thank you for visiting our profile and I’m delighted to welcome you to Prince William School, part of the East Midlands Academy Trust community of schools.
The EMAT vision is “every child deserves to be the best they can be” and we wholeheartedly believe in this vision of providing the best education for each and every one of our young people.
Our curriculum is well-sequenced, aspirational for all and has excellent teaching and behaviour at its foundation. We ensure that we develop the character in our young people to make the right decisions, at the right time, for the right reason, even when no one is watching.
At both GCSE and A level, our outcomes are very strong, and Ofsted recognise that our school is a “calm and friendly place” where our students “enjoy school, feel safe and are happy” and “respect staff”.
Our commitment to a wider curriculum goes beyond the classroom and we have an excellent range of leadership and enrichment opportunities for all students at all ages that stretch their social and emotional skills. The careers provision at Prince Williams School is exceptional; it is tailored to each individual student with a one-to-one meeting with our dedicated career adviser in Key Stage 3 and in Key Stage 4. The RSE curriculum allows our students to express their thoughts on a range of challenging topics and encourages them to develop their oracy and articulation skills to become confident in expressing themselves verbally.
We are fully committed to safeguarding our young people and all decisions are made with a lens of safeguarding their wellbeing. We are an inclusive school and our behaviour system is simple and straightforward for all to understand, allowing teachers to focus on the quality of teaching and deliver excellent learning opportunities.
I am incredibly proud to be the headteacher of PWS and, with an open-door culture, welcome any questions or queries. As a community, we will work collaboratively to find solutions and overcome any barriers that any of our young people have to fulfilling their incredible potential.
Anna Hewes
Headteacher
