The Music department is a highly successful department at Badminton School and is known locally, nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for music. We aim to offer a wide range of musical opportunities to all pupils, regardless of ability or previous musical experience, to encourage the highest possible standard in performing, composing and listening, and to develop an appreciation of music beyond the confines of styles with which students are already familiar.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding musician with the energy, commitment, and

The post-holder will also be required to discuss concerns and achievements and liaise with parents regarding progress of students and to write reports as required by the tracking and reporting cycle. The candidate should have strong IT skills, and experience in using Microsoft OneNote within a teaching setting is desirable.

It is essential that the successful applicant is a very strong practical musician. As well as classroom teaching, the role may include directing ensembles and choirs and preparing groups for public performance, and leading other musical activities such as theory and aural.

Hours: This is a temporary part-time position (0.7 FTE) with the possibility that the role could be offered on a full-time basis dependent upon the availability and skills set of the successful candidate.

Additional Benefits: Meals and accommodation, pension membership, free onsite parking, use of the school gym and heated swimming pool (at designated times) and access to free fitness classes are all included.

Starting date: February/March 2025

Closing date: Monday 11 November (9.00 am)

Interviews: Friday 22 November

Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and the school reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early.

Badminton School has an inclusive culture that promotes, values and celebrates the diverse voice of our community. We have a strong commitment as an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from all candidates.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
