The Oriel PE Department
INNOVATIVE, MOTIVATED AND SUCCESSFUL
The PE Department at Oriel High School consists of nine members of teaching staff. They are a fantastic team of staff who are extremely passionate about their subject area. PE is a well-resourced department with outstanding facilities on site which include extensive grass fields, a floodlit 3G football and rugby pitch, floodlit tennis and netball courts, a sports hall, gymnasium,, dance studio and fitness suite. PE is highly thought of at Oriel High School, this is reflected in excellent engagement in curriculum PE lessons, uptake of our exam courses in KS4 and KS5 and in attendance at extra-curricular clubs and fixtures, in which our students compete very well across the District and County and is celebrated on our Instagram and X account feeds @oriel_pe.

· Is an excellent teacher with the ability to stretch, inspire, enthuse and engage learns
· Can teach girls’ PE across Key Stages 3 and 4
· Has experience of teaching vocational PE qualifications
· Is committed to providing extra-curricular sporting opportunities to our students
We have excellent support for ECTs and would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who would like to grow and develop in an innovative and forward thinking department; or more experienced teachers. Oriel has a detailed ECT training package praised by West Sussex and actively encourages CPD throughout the school with a comprehensive program for teachers at all stages of their careers.
