We are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Physical Education. Owing to the current gender split in the department, this post is open to female candidates only. Physical Education is a vibrant part of the school curriculum with an extensive extra-curricular provision as well. Sports Leadership is a key component of our curriculum as is an extensive offer of external programmes with professional clubs or providers and after school fixtures. Both traditional and non-traditional sports are encouraged, although candidates should have strong experience in teaching dance, gymnastics and netball. We are a large site and therefore are privileged to enjoy a range of sports facilities on site: a MUGA, hard courts, two gyms and a full-sized grass football pitch. in addition, we have access to the local Bannisters Athletics Track and Cedars Sports Centre (both within walking distance).


The successful applicant will:

  • be an outstanding practitioner;
  • have a good understanding of how to get the best progress for students both in Core PE and KS4/5 exam pathways;
  • run a number of after school / lunchtime clubs and lead sports teams;
  • have an enthusiastic and positive approach within and beyond the classroom.

Hatch End High School is a highly successful multi-cultural Academy located in Harrow, London.

Sixth-form facilities were opened on the site in 2010 and a brand new rebuild in 2019. The school currently has approximately 1,250 students aged 11-18, including 270 in the Sixth Form.
