Job overview
Bournemouth School for Girls is an 11-18 selective girls’ Grammar School and Sixth Form in the heart of Bournemouth. BSG currently has 1268 students on roll which includes those in our Sixth Form. It provides students with extensive academic and extra-curricular activities from Year 7 to Year 13 (the majority of students remain in the school for 6th form study). The school is academically successful and is 7th highest in England’s Southwest region according to the Sunday Times Parent Power Survey 2024. The school was inspected by Ofsted in May 2024 and judged to be outstanding in all areas. The inspectors summarised the ethos and atmosphere of the school as follows; “Bournemouth School for Girls is a joyous place. Pupils flourish academically and socially. They are passionate about their learning and embrace the multitude of wider development opportunities that the school provides."
The school’s vision is: ‘The Best for Our Students, The Best from Our Students’ and the curriculum in place ensures that students are provided with the best opportunities to prepare them for their future.
We are seeking a Teacher of Psychology to join our school with effect from January 2025 on a temporary basis. The Social Sciences are extremely popular at BSG and pupils achieve well. This post provides an exciting opportunity to help build upon the existing high standards of our Social Science Department.
Applications are welcome from colleagues interested in a part-time basis. There may be scope for additional pastoral responsibilities for a suitably qualified candidate. We will review applications upon receipt and will interview suitable candidates at our earliest convenience. Early applications are encouraged.
The ideal candidate will be a teacher who is passionate about their subject and can inspire and bring out the best in all our students.
