An enthusiastic, motivated and inspiring Teacher of Religious Education/Humanities is required from Janaury 2025.
RE is a well-resourced department; students have lively debates, outside speakers, engaging opportunities and active teaching and learning in lessons. The department has a strong track record of success at GCSE and A Level. All students take GCSE RE at the end of Year 10 with strong progress outcomes. The department offers a popular Philosophy & Ethics course at KS5. The RE team consists of 4 full time staff and is a professional and forward-thinking team.
The successful candidate will be someone who can teach across the full age and ability range and be prepared to take part and lead educational trips. All applicants must have a track record of innovative RE delivery and demonstrate a passion for the subject with the ability to inspire a love of learning. The ability to offer a second subject would be highly desirable.
The History and Social Sciences Faculty at George Abbot are highly collaborative and work hard to achieve outstanding results for all our students. The faculty comprises of seven departments: Psychology, Sociology, Business, Economics, Law, Government and Politics and History. This team represents superb subject expertise and much experience. High quality teaching pedagogy is a feature of all of the subjects across this Faculty and we have the capacity to support and train the right candidate. We are a school committed to on-going professional development and our ethos is one of continuous improvement.
