Job overview
Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher ready to make a difference?
Your new school
Four Dwellings Academy is part of Lift Schools, a MAT with 57 schools, 10 in the Midlands, which allows you access to the best training programmes available as well as more internal opportunities. Four Dwellings Academy is a secondary school led by an ambitious and dedicated Principal, Claire Stoneman. Having been with the school since 2022, she has established a strong leadership team that has been recognised in the school’s recent ‘good’ Ofsted inspection, acknowledging ‘leaders have ensured the school sits at the heart of the local community again’. The school has just received the best GCSE results to date, is above national for both progress and attainment, and has topped the list in Birmingham as the second most improved school for progress in the city. They are now looking to recruit a Teacher of Science to join a thriving department.
Your new role
The Science department made three incredibly strong appointments this year: a director of Science in January and a T&L coach and ECT in September. These appointments have added expertise, vision and enthusiasm to the science department and have seen results improve in a short amount of time. We are now looking for an ambitious teacher of Science to continue to support and encourage pupils to reach their full potential.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with strong subject knowledge in Science and a proven track record of successfully teaching Science, ideally at secondary level. You will have a good or developing understanding of cognitive science and its importance in the classroom, you understand the importance of a knowledge-rich curriculum, and you will support the school’s belief that all children can achieve, irrespective of background or circumstance.
We offer you:
Career development and training: Access a wide range of statutory and developmental training to boost your career. Our partnership with One World powers our innovative Instructional Excellence Program. We also offer a comprehensive range of CPD programs, including Ambition Institute's Early Career and NPQ offerings, tailored to both individual and network needs.
Generous benefits: From your pension plan to healthcare and financial support, we've got you covered.
Lifestyle perks: Enjoy discounted gym memberships, travel deals, and even electric vehicle incentives.
The role is due to commence anytime between Easter and September. This is a permanent position.
If you would like to have a confidential discussion and/or a tour of the school with Claire Stoneman ahead of applying please contact her PA, Jade Burton, on jburton@fourdwellingsacademy.org.
