Founded in 1956, Colne Valley High School is one of the first purpose built comprehensive schools in England. The school is located in an area of outstanding beauty on the edge of the Pennine Hills in West Yorkshire with good transport links to Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and surrounding areas.

We are looking to recruit a teaching professional who is truly passionate about teaching Science. We are looking for someone who wants to inspire, who is committed to developing students; someone who is excited by learning and has a desire to develop a career within an ambitious Multi-Academy Trust. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven by the desire to deliver outstanding Teaching and Learning.

The Science department at Colne Valley High School has an ambitious, bespoke curriculum that builds from Years 7 to 11, and teachers in the department are highly reflective and responsive. Staff are empowered to teach to the best of their ability with shared resources and planning. This is an exciting time for the right practitioner to add capacity to the team as soon as they are available.

Great Heights Academy Trust is a growing multi-academy trust with nine schools in the West Yorkshire area with plans to further expand. In addition, we are home to a SCITT, Research School and an English Hub. Welcome to Colne Valley High School, a school that is proud of its history and principles.  Founded in 1956, our school was one of the first schools in England and Wales to be built as a true comprehensive school.  The aims of the school and the principles of a comprehensive education are as strong today as they were over 50 years ago.

Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Pennines, the Academy has almost 1300 student on roll in Years 7 to 11. The school is within easy commuting distance from Leeds and Manchester and is situated within a 10-15 minute drive of the M62 corridor.
