Job overview

Lavender Field School is part a rapidly growing group of independent special schools with locations in Staffordshire and Cheshire, providing exceptional, holistic care, education and therapy to children from 4 to 19 with a range of complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties and learning needs.

We are currently recruiting for the following position;

Teacher of Science (KS3 / KS4) - SEN Teacher:

  • Full time
  • M1 - M6

Lavender Field School enables pupils to access a curriculum that offers a personalised education rooted in social and emotional development, rich in speech and language, enabling the very best achievement both personally and academically. Pupils may or may not have low cognitive function, be on the autistic spectrum, or have difficulties with their emotional and mental health and/or speech, language and communication.

 Our aim is to provide innovative and enjoyable education, therapy and early intervention for pupils, sometimes (and only where appropriate) enabling them to successfully return to mainstream schooling, but always helping them to become happy, positive and valuable members of society.

While we require a KS3 / KS4 Science Teacher, you do not need to be experienced in SEN, as comprehensive training will be provided and the level of support provided will enable the post holder to develop very quickly. Thus, we welcome applications from Teachers from Mainstream or Specialist School settings, who are looking for something different. The recruitment process is about finding the right personality with huge amounts of potential, who will be as excited as we are about developing and expanding our group of schools.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and staff and the highest priority is given to following all safeguarding guidance and regulations. The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS clearance with children's barred list check. We are committed to equality and value diversity.
