Job overview
The Rodillian Academy seeks to appoint an inspiring and ambitious Teacher of Science to join our very effective and dedicated team. The successful candidate will have an outstanding teaching ability, the skills to motivate and engage students, and a relentless ambition to enrich the lives and learning experiences of our young people.
We have a reputation for high expectations for all, excellent staff/student relationships and a commitment to the personal and professional development of its staff. The Trust is recognised as one of the top performing Trusts in the country and is committed to providing private school opportunities in a modern comprehensive environment. We believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness to staff and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people, and a supportive environment for staff. We are a happy and well run organisation and this is an extremely exciting time to join us. Also, as a growing Multi-Academy Trust, there are always opportunities for career development and progression for ambitious and committed colleagues.
Our staff are our most important resource and we provide a supportive framework for them to develop their skills as educators. ‘Teacher freedom’ is one of our core values; we want our staff to develop their pedagogy in a way that fits their own skills and expertise to benefit their students, and we do not have a prescribed format for lessons. Teachers make their own judgments about how to engage their students and how to deliver and embed content. We support our teachers’ professional development with a well-established coaching programme. This allows staff to improve their teaching with an assigned coach who acts as a ‘critical friend’ across the year to assist them in developing an identified area of their practice.
The successful candidate will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy Trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from 2022 staff wellbeing survey).
If you want to work in an environment where you can develop your skills, have the freedom to use your own style and methods of teaching and use an innovative Resilience Curriculum to challenge students to be the most resilient learners that they can be, apply to join us today.
Prospective candidates are welcome to contact the Academy via Rebecca Farthing, PA to the Principal, rfarthing@rodillianacademy.co.uk to arrange a tour of the Academy.
The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff, volunteers, visitors and contractors to share this commitment. Shortlisted applicants will undergo relevant checks in line with statutory guidance and all appointees will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
