The Role
We are looking to appoint a maternity cover Teacher of Social Sciences who wants to join an experienced, supportive, committed faculty and make a real difference with our young people. A forward thinking, dynamic teacher, with experience of teaching one or more of the following subjects across Key Stages 4 and 5, will only strengthen our existing team:
Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Law, Health and Social Care, and Child Care.
The faculty is well-established, well-resourced, and highly supportive. Led by a full-time Head of Faculty and supported by a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the faculty work collaboratively, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront of what we do. We have spacious and equipped computer rooms and the ability to teach theory-based lessons in traditional classrooms. We would love to show you round our department and our academy. Social Sciences are taught passionately as option subjects from Year 9 through to a range of extremely popular classes at Post 16.
Results in the faculty are consistently strong, and we are driven to ensure this continues. The Ken Stimpson Academy is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and there are 1020 pupils on its roll.
