Teaching ServiceKarabar High School is a partially selective high school on Ngambri and Ngunnawal lands in Queanbeyan, in the border region of NSW and the ACT.
The school has a current enrolment of 977 students Years 7-12, including 9% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 9% English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D).
Karabar High School is committed to high expectations and opportunities for all. The school provides an inclusive, responsive and supportive environment that allows each student to develop to their potential, including an academically selective stream Years 7-10 and a performing arts stream in Stage 4.
Karabar High School is working on improving educational outcomes for all students with a focus on maintaining high standards and having all students achieve a HSC with an ATAR pattern of study, with a range of innovative community engagement projects as well as focused learning support.
The school works closely with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and engages in parent consultation groups each term.
