Position Information 

Earlwood Public School enrolment 639 students, including 80% students from a non-English speaking background, is a major hallmark in the area proudly serving its diverse learning community, while upholding academic and sporting excellence. All at Earlwood Public School are committed to ensuring every student and teacher is inspired, challenged to learn and continually improve in a respectful, inclusive and supportive environment. The school has two opportunity classes, a support class for students with physical disabilities, an itinerant unit which supports students with visual impairment, a Greek community language program and is a growing school community. The team of dedicated staff, including early career, experienced teachers and support staff, deliver highly effective teaching and learning programs. An extensive array of extracurricular programs is offered in public speaking and debating, dance, choir and band. Teachers, parents and students work in partnership towards school excellence to maintain high expectations and develop responsible, engaged and successful learners who are known, valued and cared for.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with physical disabilities with demonstrated ability to implement strategies that meet their communication, sensory, physical, social and behavioural needs.
  2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum in a multi-grade classroom and develop Personalised Learning Support Plans to maximise student growth, promote high expectations and ensure engagement for students with physical disability.
  3. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and collaboration skills working with a range of school teams including school learning and support officers (SLSO).
  4. Capacity to effectively communicate across all stakeholders within the school context including students, parents/carers, external agencies, and the wider community, to build respectful relationships and enhance a culture of inclusivity.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
