Job overview
We are a disruptive school start-up, reimagining education that promotes human flourishing by putting relationships, personal wellbeing, and a strong connection to nature at the core of the learning process. Our learning approach is grounded in and inspired by the Islamic faith, Emirati culture, and the Arabic language, based on our location.
We believe the world is a living classroom and we’re well positioned to advance a learning model that allows for real world continuous learning as part of our key purpose: to develop global stewards.
The impact our disruptive start-up will make will depend upon a team who not only understand education, but are familiar with its strengths, limitations, and potential. We aim to recruit talent that we can nurture – teacher ‘incubator’ style – who grow with us and, one day, lead learning communities.
Join us in redefining education and empowering students to thrive in a dynamic world!
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist in the delivery and preparation of project-based learning activities that inspire bravery and creativity among children.
Provide individual support to children requiring additional help, working closely to enhance their understanding and engagement.
Support teachers in creating a vibrant, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to explore.
Facilitate small group activities, encouraging collaboration, problem-solving, and creative thinking.
Manage classroom resources and setup, ensuring materials for the day’s activities are prepared and accessible.
Requirements
Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role preferred.
Strong belief in experiential and project-based learning as tools for education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and to foster positive relationships with children and parents.
Patience, creativity, and a passion for educating and inspiring young learners.
Dedication to the values of Un-School, with a focus on creating a supportive and inspiring educational environment.
Successful candidates will also show:
· Vision, compassion, imagination and respect for others
· Teamwork and leadership capabilities
· Candidates must be fluent in English or Arabic
Candidates with bi-lingual (English + Arabic) proficiency with respect and appreciation for Emirati culture, Islamic faith and regional aspirations are preferred.
