Teaching and Learning Coordinator- Grand Cayman

Salary Range: CI$73,416- CI$96,336 per annum

The Teaching and Learning Coordinator is a key leadership role in the school responsible for supporting teachers in improving their practice in their classrooms through a range of strategies including, but not limited to, coaching, demonstration lessons, joint planning and guided observations.  The Teaching and Learning Coordinator is also responsible, under the guidance of a deputy principal, for leading the development, implementation and monitoring of projects and initiatives to improve teaching and learning.

As part of the senior management team of the academy, the Teaching and Learning Coordinator is also responsible, under the guidance of the deputy principal, for line managing lead teachers within an academy who coordinate and ensure good practice within subject areas.

*Required qualifications and experience include the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized institution with some prior experience in managing people and subject areas.
  • Must meet requirements for licensing as a teacher within the Cayman Islands.
  • Formal teacher training/qualification as specified in the Department of Education Services policy on Teacher Qualifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as a teacher with a demonstrated track record of successful teaching and learning, working with students and colleagues from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Experience of working with teachers in a supportive, developmental or training capacity
  • Good understanding of how young people learn, particularly in assigned subject areas for classroom teaching
  • Prior experience teaching in a student-centred learning environment with an emphasis on differentiation for individual abilities and the use of assessment to inform planning.

The remuneration package for the successful candidate is offered without deductions. The Cayman Islands Government provides an additional 12% pension contribution and 100% health insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents.
