Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant and Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Outwood Primary Academy Lofthouse Gate. The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with high expectations for all pupils. An excellent curriculum knowledge is essential.

This is a permanent position. The working pattern for this position is 16 hours Teaching Assistant and 12.5 hours Higher Level Teaching Assistant working term time only plus 2 days. 

The successful candidate will work as a Teaching Assistant during the morning periods, by supporting the teaching and learning of Maths and English, under the direction of teaching staff. Then during the afternoon you will work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, covering PPA of class teachers. This is a rewarding role where you will work collaboratively with teaching staff to assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and management of the class.

The successful candidate will be creative, inspirational and have the ability to make learning purposeful and relevant – helping our children to raise their aspirations and believe in their own abilities to succeed and shine. Team work is very important to us so effective communication and the ability to build positive relationships with all children, their families and colleagues is essential. whilst operating in line with our safeguarding procedures.
