Would you like to be a Teaching Assistant with Beacon Education?

We are seeking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant to join our Trust Team. Experience of working within an educational setting is desirable but not essential. Although you would have a base you could be asked to work across any of our Trust Schools.

This contract will be 32.5 hours per week (term time plus 2 inset days) which will include 2.5 hours per week as a Midday Supervisor

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant with the ability to support students across Year 5 – Year 8 both in and out of the classroom. The role is to support students to access learning across all curriculum areas throughout the school day. You should enjoy the challenges and rewards of working with both young people and teaching staff and be able to provide support both to individuals and in small groups. Previous experience of working with young people is desirable as is an interest in supporting students who have additional needs. This is an exciting chance to play a pivotal role in a supportive and friendly team in a warm and welcoming school.

You should also have:

  • Good language, literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
  • Be educated to a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) level in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Good communication skills and a commitment to equal opportunities

The school is located in the beautiful West Somerset countryside in the town of Minehead. Built on a large, central site, the Middle school accommodates 605 pupils aged 9 -13 and employs almost 100 staff.

The school premises now combine the best of modern design with the beautiful old grammar school buildings, creating a secure and welcoming environment which supports and enhances the learning of all our children.
