Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work initially in our Nursery Class who:

  • Is passionate about Early Years Education
  • Has a clear understanding of the EHS ethos and values
  • Is flexible, adaptable and a good team player
  • Is kind, caring and creative
  • Has a minimum of Level 2 or higher Early Years Practitioner qualification
  • Has a current Paediatric First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
  • Has a Full Driving Licence with a willingness to drive a school minibus (training provided)


This is a full time, term time only position, starting in January 2025. Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am – 3.30pm. Extra paid hours may be available in holiday clubs and in before/after school care. A full job description and person specification can be found in the Information Pack. The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 11th November. Interviews will take place at Edgbaston High School for Girls on Monday 18th November. Successful candidates will be invited to a formal interview. They will be asked to deliver a prepared 10 minute activity to a group of 3 or 4 Nursery aged children and then to read a story to a group of Kindergarten children.

Applications, addressed to Mrs Nina Hobson (Head of Prep), should include a completed school application form and a covering letter of not more than 2 pages summarising your suitability for the role as outlined in the information pack.
