Job overview
Thank you for your interest in the role of Teaching Assistant at The Milton Keynes Academy.
We are seeking to appoint an empathetic and motivated individual to join our highly effective and experienced SEND team. As a Teaching Assistant your role will be to provide holistic support for pupils with identified SEND needs from home to classroom, working within the SEND Code of Practice to promote full inclusion within our school.
This role requires an enthusiastic, dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support our young people to ensure that, whatever their starting point, they make good progress. You must be passionate about supporting and developing pupils with Special Educational Needs and demonstrate a natural ability to build positive relationships. A Level 3 Award in supporting children and young people with Autism would be desirable, although not essential.
We are based in central Milton Keynes, an area that continues to grow and thrive at a rapid rate. The Milton Keynes Academy joined Creative Education Trust in September 2018. This has enabled the school to continue its rigorous pursuit of rapid improvement for the children it teaches.
Our staff are inspirational and caring. The pupils are at the heart of everything we do and if you share our vision of Opportunities for Everyone and are suitably qualified for the role, then we would love to hear from you!
We are an equal opportunities employer. MKA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, we expect all staff to share this commitment. References from previous employers will be requested for short-listed applicants prior to interview.
If you think that The Milton Keynes Academy would be the right place for you to inspire our pupils, please visit our website to download a recruitment pack and application form, or contact our HR Team on careers@miltonkeynesacademy.org.uk should you require any further information.
