Job overview

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role will involve you working across the curriculum with students of differing abilities and needs.

We are friendly and supportive with our inclusive approach to all students, including those with additional needs, consistently identified as a key area of strength by Ofsted and other external reviewers.  The Inclusion Team is committed to progress and independence for all learners, whatever their needs and perceived barriers to learning.

We would welcome applications from candidates with the following experience, skills and qualities:

·        Experience of working effectively in a 'team around the learner' in partnership with a qualified teacher; both with whole classes and small groups or individuals;

·        Track record of raising standards with young people across the ability range;

·        Passion for progress for all learners;

·        Ability to work flexibly for the best outcomes for young people;

·        Maths and English qualifications to at least Level 2

In return we offer:

·        Being part of a vibrant, inclusive, team committed to young people's outcomes;

·        Excellent opportunities for training and advancement with a clear progression structure;

·        Commitment to the development of your career goals.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.

About Coombe Dean School

As a school, we have much to be proud of. We work hard at fostering positive relationships with pupils and families alike and this supports a safe and calm learning environment for our pupils. We value the consistency and transparency of a very simple behaviour system that is built around mutual respect and learning how to get things right rather than being told what you have done wrong. The strong pastoral provision supports our pupils throughout their education journey, starting from transition from primary school and through to employment, further education and training.
