Rainbow International School Uganda (RISU) is a coeducational 2 – 18 years day and boarding school in Kampala, Uganda. As the most established, reputable and largest International school in the country, we deliver the EYFS and IPC curricula in the Primary section, English National curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Cambridge IGCSE and Advanced Level in Key Stages 4 and 5. We also offer BTEC Level 3 courses as an alternative pathway to University.

The Post:

We are seeking an experienced and well-qualified Teaching Assistant for Early Years (ages 18 months to 5 years). This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving primary section to continue its journey of implementing high standards in both the academic and pastoral elements of the school. The successful candidate will work with the Class Teacher to deliver the best education.

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the Early Years section on a short term contract to cover an extended absence (April – June 2024).

  *This is a local hire position (i.e. no expatriate benefits). Candidates should be ready for an immediate start.


The Successful candidates must:

●                Be passionate and committed

●                Have a proven track record of outstanding classroom practice in Early Years

●                Be a fully qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education degree

●                Have a child-centered approach

●                Be energetic and enthusiastic

●                Be punctual and professional

●                Be a team player

●                Have an international outlook

●                Have a working knowledge of Google Apps and online teaching

●                Have 3 or more years of relevant experience in an Early Years or Primary school setting (after acquiring the B. Ed. Degree)

 

Note: Experience of the English National Curriculum/IPC is an added advantage.

Please include the names and contact details of three professional referees one of whom must be your current Headteacher/Principal/Head of School. Your application letter should mention your experience of teaching in Early Years/Nursery/Kindergarten.
