We have a strong team of staff teaching our children, who are supported by dedicated classroom assistants in our Early Years, KS1 and KS2 classes.
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic classroom assistant to be based initially in KS2, working in our purpose-built facilities. You will support the class teacher to ensure the children experience a first-rate standard of education.
The role is full time, fixed-term from April 17th 2023 for the Summer term.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated to develop the academic potential of our pupils along with an understanding of the curriculum and academic requirements of Key Stage 2. The role is ideal for a highly organised, experienced and professional individual who wishes to contribute to the education of children in a forward-thinking setting.
The Role
In this role we are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational classroom assistant to support the class teacher in all aspects of educating our pupils, alongside other specialist teachers and teaching assistants.
The main focus is to support our class teacher to:
- provide a happy, stimulating environment in which our children can learn.
- prepare the classroom and all learning materials needed.
- work with children individually and in groups to support their learning.
- participate in the active assessment of the children’s learning.
- participate enthusiastically in all aspects of school life, including assemblies, break times, lunchtimes, story times, sport, music and drama.
- Attendance at staff meetings as required.
- attendance at official staff development and training events.
- attendance and participation in official school events, including school fair, and other school events out of normal school hours including evening events relevant to the year group in which you are working.
- any other reasonable duties as required to further the educational and business aims of the school.
- working with all staff to ensure Broomfield maintains our strong commitment to the protection, welfare and safety of our children.
The Candidate
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children achieve their potential. We are happy to consider candidates with:
- level 2/3 teaching or classroom assistant qualifications or equivalent experience.
- experience of working in schools, nurseries or in the childcare sector.
- an interest or experience in working in independent schools.
We are also seeking someone who is reliable, able and happy to take direction, and is keen to develop professionally while working in busy, excellent school.
