Stoke Fleming Primary school have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to join the team in January 2025. Due to our growing numbers of children in our Nursery, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is a part-time, fixed-term position until August 2025, with the potential for extension beyond this date.
We are looking for a candidate who ideally:
- Has a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Is experienced in supporting children with special educational needs, including adapting strategies to meet individual needs
- Has a good knowledge of effective early years teaching methodologies, including play-based learning
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/guardians, and staff members
- Is patient, empathetic, and has a genuine passion for supporting young children's growth and well-being
Safeguarding Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Fluency in English
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken and written aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
