Our students

“I have been really impressed with how well behaved and polite the young adults are here at The Langley Academy.  All the children I have come into contact with have a really good attitude to learning, they genuinely want to do well, it is a breath of fresh air. It means I can concentrate on teaching and not get distracted” Teacher

“The teachers get along with the students really well, they understand how they should teach and how they should make the shy students speak” Student

The Arbib Education Trust

The Langley Academy is one of three schools which are part of The Arbib Education Trust.  Being part of The Arbib Education Trust allows us to not only have an academically rigorous education but also gives our students exposure to unique and enriching experiences by:

- Providing cultural experiences wherever we can, whether it is trips abroad or to national museums

- Using our network of contacts to mentor and inspire our staff and students

- Instilling our ‘Curiosity, Exploration, Discovery’ model to question the world around them

Our sponsors’ generous funding and their network of business leaders allows us to offer these enriching opportunities to not only our children but also our staff.  This enables our community to have exposure to opportunities and experience, they would not get anywhere else.

As one of our staff members said “With the support we get from our sponsor we are able to shape a curriculum and our educational vision that is slightly different from the norm so that the children get the very best opportunities. We wouldn’t be the school we were if it wasn’t for the support of the Trust.”

What we can offer you….

The health and wellbeing of our staff is of utmost importance to us. We recognise that all of our colleagues have a life outside our school community. To support this, as part of our wider wellness programme we offer the following:

Short Fridays - to allow you to start your weekend early

Trustee day – a term time day to attend events you wouldn’t ordinarily be able to attend. For example, one of our teachers who is mad about tennis is going to Wimbledon this year and others have the opportunity to celebrate their birthdays at Ladies Day, Ascot and Henley Regatta

Flexible working– a bespoke ‘Extra Flex’ scheme offers flexibility on when and where you work as well as part time and job share options.

Teacher cover– dedicated to allow more flexible work patterns

Subsidized social events – providing the chance to socialize with colleagues across The Trust

CPD - Enhanced additional funding from our sponsors to support the costs of further qualifications

A Supportive Leadership team who make it their mission to learn and listen to our community

Collaborative and welcoming colleagues - we have an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee and working groups

Promoting a healthy lifestyle – free on-site gym and cycle to work scheme

Free on-site car parking

Other facilities include quiet zones and cafes to allow downtime

Our facilities

“As soon as they walk through the door of the Langley Academy they see the aeroplane, they see the dinosaur and they say ‘Wow!’ and that’s exactly how I felt when I came for my interview, is ‘Wow, what a place to work’ and I haven’t lost that yet and I hope I never do.” Teacher
