Job overview

Central Region Schools Trust (CRST) is seeking to appoint a School Improvement Lead for Science for January 2025. The pay range will be dependent upon experience and range from Assistant Principal (L11-L15) to Vice Principal (L17-21). A recruitment and retention allowance will be considered for suitable candidates.

We are very excited to offer this opportunity to enhance the science leadership and provision across the Trust and play a key role in ensuring that every pupil/student achieves outstanding outcomes and that we deliver Social Justice Through Exceptional Schools. This role offers an excellent career opportunity for a proven, successful middle or senior leader who is ready to progress and continue their professional passion for their chosen academic subject. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with the Trust’s School Improvement Team and other subject leads to pioneer curriculum collaboration and be the lead professional in the Trust for science leadership.

The School Improvement Lead for Science will be a non-teaching leadership development role forming an integral part of the CRST School Improvement Team. The successful candidate will initially be based at Assay Studios, although will be expected to regularly travel to the secondary schools in the Trust to meet the requirements of the role. We expect the postholder to lead all aspects of collaboration in curriculum development and teaching of science and support the development of subject expertise in all schools in the Trust through professional networks and sharing of best practice.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Further information is available on the Trust’s website www.crst.org.uk.

Applications should be submitted by 10.00am on Thursday 17th October. Interviews will take place during the week beginning Monday 21st October. However, early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to interview earlier for this post should suitable candidates apply.
