Job overview

Begin your teaching career at prestigious Uppingham Cairo, with our ground breaking Early Career Teacher Development programme, in collaboration with UCL Institute of Education.

In your first year at Uppingham Cairo you will be appointed as a co-teacher in the Junior School, working alongside an experienced Form Teacher who will guide and mentor you as you develop your teaching skills and experience. With the Form Teacher taking responsibility for the class, you will begin your fully funded UCL IOE Early Career Teacher Programme and develop expertise and confidence in a pressure free environment designed to enable you to enjoy your early days of teaching; to enable you to reach your full potential and thrive. With classes of 12 - 18 pupils you will have plenty of time to really get to know the children in your care.

ECTs who demonstrate the necessary skills and commitment in their first year will be promoted to the position of Junior School Form Teacher in Year 2, with full responsibility for their class. With specialist teachers providing lessons to children in the Junior School in French, Spanish, PE, Art, Computing, Arabic, Music, Swimming and Drama, and a full time Co-Teacher in every class, you will continue to enjoy the pleasure of teaching with the time and support you need to provide a first class educational experience for every child in your care whilst completing your induction programme.

As an ECT at Uppingham Cairo you will unlock a plethora of benefits designed to enrich both your professional and personal life. Enjoy a generous salary package with the added advantage of a low tax rate, ensuring financial stability and security. Enjoy first class accommodation, comprehensive private health care, sports centre membership, five restaurant standard nutritionally balanced meals per day and convenient transportation to and from school during term time; all contributing to the healthy, balanced and fulfilling lifestyles that we value so highly for every member of our community. With full scholarships for up to two dependents at Uppingham Cairo, parents will have the opportunity to provide their children with the enormous benefits of a prestigious British Independent School education without the worry of fees.

Seize this extraordinary opportunity to change your life for the better and to thrive in a dynamic, supportive and exciting educational community.
