Job overview

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Vice Principal. This role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the school. The position encompasses strategic planning, operational management, and academic oversight to maintain high standards in teaching, learning, and administration. As a dynamic and forward-thinking leader, the Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal, faculty, and support staff to create an inspiring, inclusive, and safe learning environment for students.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the Principal and other senior leaders to develop and implement the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.

Provide leadership in driving innovative teaching and learning practices aligned with national and international standards.

Monitor and evaluate school-wide programs to ensure alignment with educational goals and continuous improvement.

Foster a culture of high expectations and accountability for both staff and

Supervise the implementation of curriculum frameworks such as British, American, or IB, ensuring rigor and relevance.

Collaborate with department heads to review and enhance instructional practices and academic programs.

Analyze data on student performance to identify trends, address gaps, and implement targeted interventions.

Organize regular academic reviews and teacher observation sessions to maintain high teaching standards.

Lead professional development sessions focused on curriculum delivery, differentiated instruction, and assessment methods.

Actively support the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-caliber educators and staff.

Conduct performance evaluations for teaching and administrative staff, providing constructive feedback and actionable recommendations.

Mentor staff, fostering leadership development and encouraging participation in ongoing professional growth opportunities.

Collaborate with the Principal to address staff concerns, resolve conflicts, and ensure a positive workplace culture.

Oversee school-wide operations, including timetabling, classroom allocation, and resource planning.

Develop and enforce policies related to student behavior, attendance, and safety.

Work closely with the administration team to manage daily operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and address logistical challenges.

Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency, including the use of technology and data-driven decision-making.

Ensure that emergency protocols and safety measures are effectively communicated and implemented.

Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and well-being among students.

Oversee the implementation of discipline policies, ensuring fairness and consistency.

Work with counselors and teachers to provide guidance and support to students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges.

Foster student leadership opportunities through involvement in school councils, extracurricular activities, and community initiatives.

Act as a liaison between the school and the parent community, ensuring transparency and effective communication.

Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and school events to strengthen the school-community partnership.

Address parent concerns with professionalism and empathy, working towards collaborative solutions.

Represent the school at external events and maintain positive relationships with local and international stakeholders.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

 

Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area (required).

Experience:

A minimum of 7 years of experience in education, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g., Head of Department, Vice Principal, or Principal).

Proven experience in curriculum management, teacher mentoring, and student success initiatives.

Background in managing operations within an international school setting is highly desirable.

Certifications:

Leadership certifications or advanced training in school management.
