Those huge, small victories
Our residential houses accommodate young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs; and our aim is to create the best possible outcome for the young people in our care.
Working in our Residential Houses means being a part of a young person’s day-to-day life and being there for the highest highs and lowest lows. Our Residential Support Workers enable our young people to get their childhood back and create pathways to become well-rounded adults – an incredibly rewarding role to have.
Our support workers are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things. Although there will be challenges along the way there will also be the smallest moments which feel like a huge victory!
Get out what you put in.
You will take care of the day-today- needs of our young people and create lasting memories along the way. We offer a 24-hour curriculum where we support young people to get ready and attend school, support with independent living skills, organise and take part in meaningful activities, complete paperwork and create a homely, happy environment.
Evenings and weekends are for fun, whether this is playing on the Xbox, playing a game of football, going to the cinema or go karting – not a bad way to spend your day at work!
Working at Cedar House School is never dull, and the work really matters. We strive to understand each young person’s needs personality and potential and guide them toward a positive future. We thrive on establishing trusting and meaningful relationships with our young people as they see us as a central adult and positive role model in their lives.
