Hear what some of our recently appointed staff have to say about working here:
Rachel, i/c KS4 Business/Teacher of Business
“Upon joining Nower Hill as an Early Career Teacher (ECT), I was welcomed into a diverse, supportive and collaborative environment. The staff work closely with me to ensure I could excel and develop my teaching practice. Their approachable and dedicated nature helped me foster a positive learning atmosphere for students. Since becoming part of the Nower Hill community, I have benefited from a wide range of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, which have significantly contributed to my growth and opened pathways for future progression and success. “
Katie, Maths KS3 Leader/Teacher of Maths
“I had taken a year out of teaching and wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but knew that if I was coming back, I had to find the right school. I'm now in my second year in the Maths department at Nower Hill and I'm hoping to stay for a long time! This is a really well-run school, with strong systems and a lovely atmosphere. The students are a pleasure to teach and all my colleagues have been welcoming and helpful from day one. It's no surprise that many staff have stayed a long time, and send their own children here. I'm really pleased to have joined this community.”
Lewis, Head of French/Teacher of French
“As a teacher at Nower Hill High School, I’ve experienced first-hand the school’s commitment to inclusivity and support. From the moment I joined, I felt valued not only for my role as an educator but also as an individual. The LGBT+ Group, along with other staff-led initiatives, has created a truly open and respectful environment, where everyone’s voice is heard. The ongoing CPD opportunities and the collaborative spirit among staff have been key to my professional growth. Our students are eager to learn, and working in such a progressive, inclusive school has been incredibly rewarding.”
David, Teacher of Science
“NHHS has provided me with excellent support during my ECT training. There is a wealth of experience, both in my department and throughout the school, and all the staff are extremely friendly and happy to help. I was welcomed with smiles on my first day and have received incredible guided mentorship throughout as I embark on my CPD journey. Receiving OFSTED outstanding during my first term here is a testament to the students, staff, teaching and learning at this school and I couldn't imagine a happier or more comfortable place to work.”
Nower Hill is a happy, hardworking school. I do hope that you want to come and join us
I look forward to hearing from you.
