Our School 

 Established in August 2014 BSY later became part of Nord Anglia Education and its global family of schools. We provide personalised, inspiring learning to students from EYFS- Year 13 offering IPC, IGCSE and A Levels. We link our learning approach and attitude to our four key values:

Our sports facilities include a covered sports field, a 25-metre pool, two gyms, and a climbing wall. The Science Department is equipped with state-of-art science labs and we are proud of our 500-seat theatre and specialist music and art rooms. About the role

We are looking for an outstanding Head of PE to join our team. You will be passionate about your subject with the ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons that engage, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities and up to A level. We welcome those with creative, innovative, and enriching ideas which will motivate and inspire our young learners.   

 A responsibility allowance is incorporated here for the successful candidate to lead the school’s extra-curricular activities programme. This is of supreme importance as we look to develop further our vibrant, active and enriching programme of activities for our students on their return to campus. It is an amazing opportunity to lead on an area of whole-school importance and really make a difference with the unwavering support of the SLT team. 

About you 

You will be an outstanding, inspirational and resilient practitioner, willing to adapt quickly to a new and vibrant culture and one who builds strong and positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues. You will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification, and at least two years of teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s level of achievement. 

As Head of PE, a key part of the role is the school’s participation in and co-ordinating of the MISAC league fixtures, tournaments and matches. MISAC includes 9 international schools in Yangon and as we have the best facilities in the country, we do host a significant number of the matches. For this, you will need to have excellent organisational and people skills and be truly passionate about providing meaningful opportunities for students to develop their approach to sport and gamesmanship. 

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Yangon, Myanmar including you must hold a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate relevant to this post
