Required for Summer Term 2024

A new opportunity has arisen in the Eden Academy Trust to recruit a Workforce Development Service Manager who will be central to the Trust ambition of becoming an employer of choice and putting our people first.

The Eden Academy Trust is a growing multi-academy trust currently comprising 10 schools and settings who specialise in meeting the educational needs of children and young adults with a range of learning disabilities.

The Workforce Development Service Manager will be responsible for developing the skills and knowledge of our workforce as our primary resource and creating a Trust wide workforce development strategy. This will be achieved by collaborative working with Directors, Heads and professional development coordinators across all schools and creating high-quality development pathways including opportunities to engage in professional networks, coaching and research.

The Workforce Development Service Manager will effectively manage and lead a team of school based professional development co-ordinators who will have delegated responsibilities for developing the efficiency and effectiveness of the service. The post holder will also act, in liaison with the Teacher Development Lead, as a link to external institutions (for example NIoT, SCITT) in order to maintain knowledge of the sector and identify opportunities both to deliver and take up training opportunities.

We are looking for a manager who has teaching experience, preferably within a specialist setting or with significant knowledge of pupils with SEND and an up to date knowledge of the latest sources of evidence-based research to inform professional development.

This position offers a significant opportunity to play an important role in supporting the pupils and staff of a MAT that is going through a period of dynamic growth.
