What he inveighs against as being the preserve of “zealots” is simply basic Catholic teaching, the availability of which is the reason why Catholic parents choose Catholic schools. Since so much of this teaching is anathema to Mr Feely, one wonders why he did not become the head of a secular school.
It is to be hoped that he laid his prospectus out during the currency of his headship as clearly as he has done in retirement so that prospective Catholic parents were able to exercise informed choice before sending their children to his school.
