Adi Bloom’s comments on The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ echoed previous reviews on titles by Pullman - well written, but confusing and blurring the line between fantasy and reality (“Marks out of 10”, TES Magazine, April 30).
From my own reading of the Gospel accounts, Christ’s teachings are clear, radical and very thought provoking.
My own experience has convinced me that Jesus Christ’s claims stand up to scrutiny. Adi said that “Pullman has a gift for creating scenes that make the reader want to put the book down and say ‘wow’”. I would encourage your readers to check out the original accounts by the Gospel writers - the experience has changed my life and many others.
