A headteacher in Minnesota, USA, has resigned after a parental outcry and could face criminal charges after an incident last month in which he shot dead two kittens on school grounds within earshot of pupils.
Wade Pilloud, principal at Indus school, a combined primary and secondary school, said he was only sparing the kittens any further suffering after their mother was snared in a trap. “I am not a cat hater,” he told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
