THE first re-inspection of a local education authority is to take place later this month in the London borough of Southwark.
The first report from the Office for Standards in Education said the authority’s education services gave poor value for money.
The education services provided by Manchester, Sandwell and Tower Hamlets are to be re-inspected in the spring.
OFSTED has also announced the names of 16 authorities to be inspected next summer. They are: Bath and North-east Somerset, Blackpool, Bolton, Cambridgeshire, City of Nottingham, Coventry, Dudley, Enfield, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Isle of Wight, Lincolnshire, Merton, Redbridge, Sefton and South Gloucestershire.
