A tree which fell on to a school playground killing an eight-year-old girl had no signs of disease or damage, according to the Health and Safety Executive.
Rianna Davenport died last year after a tree toppled on to her at West Ashstead primary school, Surrey. There had been storms earlier that day.
The Health and Safety Executive served an improvement notice on Surrey County Council last April, stating that the authority should tighten up its procedures for identifying trees that needed remedial work.
