Progress on nine of 20 national targets has stalled or is slow, according to a report issued by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. Two targets for this year have not been met - for 85 per cent of 11-year-olds to reach the expected standard in English and maths at age 11 and for 85 per cent of 14-year-olds to reach the expected standard in English, maths and ICT. The other seven targets have suffered from “slippage”.
