The Diary is a little hurt that the Secondary Heads Association did not take its advice and rename itself ACSL - the Association of College and School Leaders. (Just say it and you sound dynamic.) Instead, SHA members have opted for ASCoL (the Association of School and College Leaders), which sounds like a cure for indigestion.
Will the NAHT now follow suit?
“I don’t think we’re going to become the National Association of School Leaders,” says Mick Brookes, NAHT general secretary. “The acronym sounds too much like ‘nasal’.”
