THE TINY Shenington primary in rural Oxford is the only school in England to produce an unbroken run of perfect test scores, next week’s league tables will reveal.

The school has only a dozen 11-year-olds and, over four years of league tables, all its pupils have achieved the expected level in maths, English and science.

Three other schools achieved perfect scores for three of the four years: Oakridge primary, in Staffordshire, Hutton Rudby, North Yorkshire, and Our Lady of Victories, Wandsworth, south London.

The tables - which appear in full in The TES next week - will give the results of tests in maths, English and science taken by 11-year-olds in more than 18,000 primary schools. This year, for the first time, there will be information showing how far schools have improved compared with their previous results.

Secondary performance tables for Wales are expected next week and will be published in The TES.
